Acne Treatment Program Details
Luminosity Acne Skincare has a unique and effective treatment plan that will have most acne under control in about 3-4 months. Clients achieve clear skin through a combination of using our products and receiving 6-8 acne treatments on average.
Your initial consultation & skin analysis is $25. During this appointment we will discuss your acne history and your skin will be assessed in order to determine which specific type of acne you have. Our product recommendations are determined by your type of acne and skin sensitivity. We will also discuss aggravating factors that may be worsening your acne, such as certain foods and stress. Your first acne treatment will be scheduled 2 weeks after your consultation. This is to allow your skin to first adjust to your new homecare care products before introducing the professional treatments.
*Note: Allow up to 45 minutes for consultation.
*Note: If treating just face acne, average cost of initial product kit is $140. If treating face & body acne then initial product kit cost will be higher.
Each Acne Treatment is $80. Treatments are scheduled for approximately 25-45 minutes (depending on amount of extractions performed). Our acne treatments focus on deep exfoliation and extraction of current acne lesions. With each treatment your progress will be reviewed and homecare product adjustment guidance will be given.
On average, it will take 3-4 months of treatments
and complying with homecare product
recommendations to get you clear.

Frequently Asked Questions
About Our Acne Program
I've seen multiple dermatologists and tried many skincare products with no results. How is it that you can successfully clear up acne?
Clearing up acne is actually quite easy and fast when it is approached in the correct way. Successful acne treatment involves a combination of professional acne treatments PLUS using high quality, non-comedogenic products for your specific type of acne. Yes, there are different types of acne and each type requires a different approach. Some types need more anti-bacterial action, while other types need to focus more on exfoliation. Another key component of acne that we address is it's ability to quickly adapt to homecare products. We make periodic adjustments to how you use your products in order to prevent the acne from adapting.
How soon should I expect to be clear?
On average it takes 6-8 treatments, booked 2 weeks apart in order to get clear so that means most clients can be clear in as little as 3-4 months. A small percentage of clients have more stubborn acne so getting clear may take longer in those cases. We are not able to clear up clients who are not compliant with our daily homecare product protocol or who do not come in every 2 weeks for their treatment.
Once I am clear, do I have to have maintenance treatments to keep my skin clear?
No, you do not have to continue maintenance treatments in order to maintain your clear skin. On average it takes 6-8 initial treatments to get clear skin, after that you just have to continue using your homecare products to prevent new acne from forming. We cannot permanently cure acne, however once you reach the maintenance phase, you can continue to keep it at bay by being diligent with your homecare routine.
What can I expect my skin to look like during the treatment course?
During the course of your acne treatment, it is normal for the skin to look and feel dry. Most clients will experience light flaking for about 2-3 days following the professional treatments. It is important for clients not to be aggressive in scrubbing off or rubbing off the flaking skin or else irritation and hyperpigmentation can result. If you do not want your skin to be too flaky then please let us know and we can take a less drying professional treatment approach, although it may prolong your treatment course. Once clients are done with the treatment program and are on maintenance, most find that their skin hydration returns to normal.
I have acne and hyperpigmentation. Will your treatments help with both?
Yes, our acne treatments and homecare products address both acne and hyperpigmentation at the same time. Generally, the acne will clear up much faster than the hyperpigmentation will but most clients will still see noticeable fading of their pigmentation issues. Once you are clear of acne, you may opt to receive our Pigmentation Fading Treatments to address any residual hyperpigmentation.
What is the cost of your treatments and homecare products?
Acne sufferers interested in becoming our clients must first book a consultation which costs $25. Each acne or hyperpigmentation treatment is $80. If treating just face acne, average cost of initial product kit is $140. If treating face & body acne then initial product kit cost will be higher. Clients treating just hyperpigmenation can expect to pay about $104 for their initial product kit. As you need to replenish individual products, the cost can be anywhere from $12 to $42 depending on product needed.
Will insurance cover my treatments and product purchases?
We are a skincare practice and not a dermatologist office therefore insurance will not cover your expenses. However, many of our clients are able to be reimbursed for their expenses if they have a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) through their employer. All plans are different and you should discuss this with your FSA administrator to see what their specific qualifications are. We cannot make any promises that your FSA will cover our treatments and products.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
Due to high demand of our acne services, we ask that you please give us 24 hour notice so that we may fill the vacancy with a client on our waiting list.
Same day cancellation of appointments will result in a charge of the full treatment price ($25 for consultation and $80 for acne treatment or hyperpigmentation treatment).
*New clients that fail to show up to their consultation will not be allowed to rebook any of our services. We greatly value our work and ask that potential clients do too. We acknowledge that this is a very strict policy but our availability for consultations is very limited and most new clients find themselves waiting several weeks for an available appointment that fits their schedule. Having a strict "NO SHOW" consultation policy helps to cut down on these occurrences and allows clients who are serious about getting their acne under control to find appointments sooner.
This client suffered from severe inflamed acne for about 12 years. We easily cleared her skin with 7 Acne Treatments in combination with our acne homecare products. At the time that her "After Photo" was taken she had only received 1 of our Pigmentation Fading Treatments in order to even out her skin tone and remove the remaining dark spots/hyperpigmentation. She emailed us to say "Thanks so much for all you do and are doing to help me obtain my self confidence back."
